Doug Drexler and Daren Dochterman recently posted beauty shots of their excellent Enterprise models on their blogs, so while scenes from Act I are in the render farm hopper I thought I’d provide you guys an embiggened peek at the Gray Lady from what I felt were some of the more successful clips in the teaser. First up is my favorite of the “red planet of the week” shots from the opening credits…
She *is* a beautiful lady...
Our hero Captain Kirk may have been trying to short out the space babe robots in “I, Mudd” when he exclaimed that the Enterprise “is a beautiful lady and we all love her!”, but darn it… she is, and we do!
At the last minute I decided that since the next release would probably not be until Act I is finished sometime in mid-to-late July, I thought it would be nice to add a little something extra, so…

Only one scene to go: the viewscreen contents behind Kirk as he walks in front of it. (The rotoscoping was done years ago… literally years ago.)
Another snapshot from the “dailies” while you wait. The color balance in this image is more like what you’ll see in the finished product (the Enterprise was way too dark in the frame grab I posted earlier this week).
