Sorry folks, had to delete the last few comments. A rather unpleasant chap who doesn’t know how to (or doesn’t care to) post critical comments without being rude and vulgar didn’t take the hint, so I’ve excised him and all replies to him.
Yes, I post my stuff here on the public internet, and yes, I welcome comments both positive and critical–if you look through this website you will see several comments where the posters have offered constructive criticism, but always in a respectful fashion. But please keep in mind one thing–you are a guest here. Opening my internet home and welcoming public comment and criticism doesn’t mean I have to tolerate childish jerks who are only here to pee on the rug. Enough said.

scott,
Stumbled upon the 1st 2 completed parts of doomsday machin the other day on youtube, and was BLOWN away! Have seen some of the redux episodes on tv, and think (as short the finished sequences are, understanding time constraints life puts on you) that your work thus far is alot more polished than even the studios attempt at redoing the effects were. I wish the studio had taken the approach you seem to be taking in doing a virtual re-shoot of the effects, whereas, it appears that the studio just did a scene for scene cgi remake. Keep up the outstanding work, as TOS Enterprise has never looked so good! I look forward to seeing the completion of what is obviously a labor of love. Live long and prosper, Scott Gammans.

I have seen your vision of the Doomsday Machine and Youtube, and it is awesome! They should have had YOU doing the remaster project for TOS! You rock! Can’t wait to see the end! All I can say, in a word, is WOW.

Given my glacial progress since this project started, my head would be on a pike by now if I’d been in charge of the official project! But thanks…

Very, very, good work. I have always liked that episode, and yours (so far) looks much better than the studio’s does now, or ever did. I look forward to seeing how you finish it. You know, I have always wanted to design a planet killer. The question is, how do you make something like that more frightening? How about making it a ship that really does eat everything. A giant gravity engine maybe? It’s core being an artificially generated singularity? Maybe two singularities so their gravitational forces could be played against each other so it would generate gravitational torsion? Lets see. 20 km long. Hull composed of a neutron dense mono-atomic ceramic. Lots of firepower. Uses the gravitational power from the singularities to move when it’s not eating everything. I would make mine look a bit more artificial looking though. Not that the organic look is bad, but I think it would be scarier if it looked like somebody deliberately built such a monstrosity. I don’t know how to describe what I can see in my minds eye, but if I could draw it, I would show you. Just a few random thoughts. I still love your work though.
